Prime Contractor – Developer

A BC lower mainland pre-fab wood construction company – specializing in medium to large residential and multi-family buildings, hotels, condominiums, apartment complexes, senior living facilities, townhouses, student residences and affordable housing projects – asked Al for help to deal with an outstanding WorkSafeBC issue. They had experienced a serious health and safety incident in the workplace and a subsequent management change. The new management team approached Al for assistance to comply with all of the WorkSafeBC requirements arising from the incident. The client did not have the in-house expertise to properly respond to the orders and they wanted to resolve the issue and demonstrate compliance. Because Al had a previous working relationship with the new management team, trust was already established and proved to be a critical asset while gathering information and determining an expedient course of action. Al reviewed all of the available documentation, liaised with WorkSafeBC’s investigator, produced evidence of compliance to match all of the components within the orders, and developed new materials / forms as required. WorkSafeBC closed the file, concluding that compliance was achieved; and the client was very pleased with the quick result – this assignment was completed in less than a week from start to finish. Discussions are continuing with respect to a longer-term engagement.
