New Equipment Acquisition

by

grape vine

An Okanagan construction management company that is focused on the wine industry purchased a major piece of equipment, breaking from their normal practice of sub-contracting this work. Al was already providing regular health and safety inspection services to the company, after building their prime contractor safety program; so, it was a natural step to ask him to develop all of the safety protocols for the new equipment.

Al met with the people selling the equipment and reviewed their documentation, observed the operation, and discussed the regulatory compliance requirements. Al also reviewed examples of safety protocols from other companies using the same equipment and critically examined the relevant legislation. He used all of the above to develop a comprehensive safety protocol that includes responsibilities of management and workers. The client now has the confidence and assurance that the equipment will be operated safely and according to regulations, by following Al’s protocol.
